The data center operator announced a strategic relationship with Microsoft that enables cloud connectivity Windows Azure in key markets worldwide via the Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers.
A direct connection to Windows Azure will be available in several Equinix IBX centers data across the United States in the first half of 2014 . More details on the locations will be shared when the solution becomes available. Equinix and Microsoft will board a small number of clients for the first trials by the end of 2013.
With the new offering, Equinix customers can connect their infrastructure owned and managed directly in Windows Azure cloud via Platform Equinix, establish a private network that can reduce network costs, increase throughput, reduce latency and provide more consistent performance network connections on the Internet.
