Microsoft announced the latest step in its global expansion of azure, with general availability azure in Australia region next week. In late 2014, Microsoft Azure will be operational in 19 regions around the world. The company also announced its G-series virtual machines and high-end storage for Microsoft Azure.
The launch of Microsoft Azure Australia Azure follows the launch in Japan, China and Brazil earlier this year.
Powered by the latest Intel Xeon processors, the G series would be the biggest virtual machines available in the public cloud to date, while Azure Storage will provide premium high-performance virtual machine. Together, they will deliver the scale of business and level of performance that businesses and developers need to run the most demanding workloads in their cloud hosting environments.
