IBM unveils SoftLayer servers Bare Metal With Safety Features to Microchip Level -

IBM announced that SoftLayer cloud will be the first platform to offer its customers the bare metal servers powered by Intel Trusted Execution Technology (Intel TXT) with surveillance and security to the level of the chip. IBM will also offer services to help customers implement this new functionality into their applications and platforms.

softlayer-cloud Intel Trusted Execution Technology (Intel TXT) provides monitoring controls and physical security that help ensure companies a workload from a known location on the SoftLayer infrastructure is running on trusted hardware. This insurance would provide an essential level of trust - and even certification of compliance -. For mobile organisms sensitive operations and critical for cloud hosting environments

regulations for compliance and auditing

"It is increasingly important to provide environments cloud with the same, if not greater levels of security that your on technological environments of principle, "said Rick Echevarria, vice president of Intel security Group, General Manager, security Platform Intel and Solutions divisions . "Building on IBM's history of safety innovation, with this solution based on Intel TXT, SoftLayer demonstrates that such cloud security levels are now possible and available."

Intel TXT is particularly advantageous for large companies subject to compliance and audit regulations, such as healthcare, financial services and government agencies. It ensures that trusted resources can be integrated, managed and presented with executives relevant compliance ( HIPAA, PCI, FedRAMP, ISO, FISMA, SSAE16 ).

with IBM Cloud and SoftLayer infrastructure, these organizations would be able to certify a cloud computing pool that is properly insured for workloads with exhibitions such as governance and enterprise risk, information and management lifecycle, compliance and audit, application security, identity management and access and incident response.

Trusted Platform Module

intel-security "Security perception remains the biggest obstacle to widespread adoption enterprise cloud," said Marc Jones CTO for SoftLayer . "SoftLayer is the only bare metal cloud platform with Intel TXT, an industry leader in enabling clients to build hybrid clouds and environments that can be trusted end to end."

to use Intel TXT, SoftLayer customers must order only bare metal servers available with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) installed. once activated and deployed with the certification software, Intel TXT enables customers to build computing pools reliable computing resources in cloud hosting environments with a level of visibility and control.
