CloudVelox, a hybrid cloud disaster recovery provider (CD) and migration solutions, has closed $ 15 million in series C funding, bringing the total raised to $ 33 million. Cisco Investments participated as a strategic investor with previous investors Mayfield Fund, Pelion Venture Partners and Third Point Ventures. CloudVelox plans to use the funds to build sales and marketing and expand its product development efforts.
s' CloudVelox Hybrid Cloud software platform enable seamless mobility of application workloads across data centers and hybrid clouds for cases of use of clouds, including Pilot Light DR and migration of clouds.
Pilot Light DR involves the use of public cloud as a secondary data center. In case of failure, the environment stored in the cloud can be "on" in production on a pay-as needed basis. Testing and migration between the premise and the cloud is very automated. Benefits would include substantial reductions in DR costs with increased confidence in the DR environments.
CloudVelox cloud migration involves the automation of critical cloud migration process, including discovery, blueprinting and provisioning workloads in the data center in the cloud. Benefits would include more rapid and low cost cloud migration.
