The American Association IX (OIX), an industry association without profit neutral formed in September 2013 is now accepting applications for all data centers and IX locations in North America. This statement comes on the heels of its recent announcement declaring the opening of the OIX Certification application process in Northern Virginia (NoVA).
In order to become a certified OIX data center or Internet Exchange Point (IXP), companies must first start the process by submitting an application that includes a filing fee and treatment. The Executive Board will examine each request OIX and once accepted, datacenters and IXPs are required to complete a compliance report to comply with the technical requirements of Oix.
LINX, AMS-IX, Digital Realty
OIX seeks to unify a very fragmented industry and change the way networks connect to each other in America North by creating a new network of Internet exchange points governed members (IXP) housed in multiple facilities screws neutral data centers. Oix standards already adopted by LINX, AMS-IX, Digital Realty, DuPont Fabros, Raging Wire and many other data centers and IX suppliers.
