As WHMCS faced a SQL injection vulnerability in its software last week, the company had Thursday security patches released for minor versions 5.2 and 5.1. Now, in a company blog, WHMCS provides detailed information on how to check if you are concerned about security issue and if protection is updated.
WHMCS, a provider of billing solutions and support with the most popular web hosting providers and developers, advises its customers to check 'WHMCS user details Change' email notification , which should contain information on whether the software is affected or not. Another way to check if the attack last week violated WHMCS software security, is using Activity Log . As with email notification, if references containing the keyword AES_ENCRYPT, then it must have been an attempt to use the exploit on the system.
5.1 and 5.2 security updates
Although all versions of the WHMCS software published before 3 October e 2013 have been affected the vulnerability, the only company provided updates 5.1 and 5.2 security. By doing this, WHMCS wants to encourage its customers web hosting to stay updated with the latest and the best user experience.
WHMCS is a private company based in the UK, with customers in over 130 countries worldwide . The software solution was released in 05 with the aim to combine the billing web hosting and support in one package.
