QTS, an international provider of data center, managed hosting and cloud services, bought a 360,000 square foot center data DuPont Fabros Technology in Piscataway, New Jersey. The installation becomes the third data center New Jersey 'QTS and strengthens its ability to serve Fortune 1000 companies, and companies in the financial services, healthcare and technology in the Northeast.
QTS data purchased 18 Megawatt existing campus center for about $ 125 million and plan add an additional 8 megawatts in the coming years. The rich connectivity facility is carrier neutral with 18 carriers available on site, and serves as a point of presence (PoP) for the Internet Exchange (AMS-IX).
The facility will be developed to support a wide range of N redundancy 2N power . The campus data center has solar panels that produce 2 megawatts of power, which aligns with the approach of sustainability "QTS. The property also has a 112kVA station on site.

The current data center facility has integrated capacity represents about 18 critical megawatts, and 88,000 square feet of raised floor space in the data center. QTS plans to strategically reorganize parts of the plant to increase its capacity to 176,000 total raised floor square feet and more than 26 megawatts of critical power.
current customers of the installation consist of a major pharmaceutical company, a large media company and several financial services organizations. permanent customers occupy about 56,000 square feet and 8.4 megawatts of total critical power available, leaving room for new clients and immediate expansion of services.
Although the acquired data center has been sold exclusively to wholesale customers, QTS Realty Trust plans to use its fully integrated platform of 3C technology services custom data center, colocation and cloud and managed services.
