the London Internet Exchange (LINX), one of the largest Internet exchanges in the world, has announced the launch IXCardiff of his recent UK Internet Exchange located in Wales. The new Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is the last step in the mission of LINX distribute and decentralize peering UK.
Housed in a neutral support center run by LINX in the BT data center Stadium House, IXCardiff launches on October 15 after a long period of consultation to establish a community of interest network operators, and with the support of Cardiff City Council and the Welsh Government.
IXCardiff is one -node IXP built using equipment from Summit X460 Series Extreme, and operates independently of other networks LINX in London, Manchester, Scotland and Northern Virginia. The exchange is managed in consultation with a local steering committee members connected networks.
