Perforce Software adds clustering capabilities of the server management Engine Version -

Perforce Software, a version management technology provider and collaboration platform, announced the adding clustering capabilities of "powerful" engine servers for its version control, even extending the performance and scalability of the Perforce version management platform.

perforce-software introducing a more reliable and horizontally scalable architecture for global collaboration, the latest version would bring greater scalability and a new high availability (HA) deployment topology. In addition, a cluster management utility has just been unveiled, P4CMGR, would streamline the addition of new Perforce servers and ensure fast monitoring, automatic switching in case of failure.

Key features of version of Perforce management engine include:

  • A Scalable, Global Platform - The Cluster Perforce servers distributes workloads across multiple nodes. This distribution of the workload is invisible to users who normally connect while intelligently assigns the cluster workload nodes. The additional capacity can be added gradually as needed to maintain consistent performance
  • Achieving "Zero" Down-Time -. High availability is made possible by a backup repository server that provides all users continue to work when the master repository server must be taken offline for maintenance or fails. Automatic switching ensure a new level of availability vital confidence to the financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and other highly regulated industries
  • Improved Management -. For maximum flexibility, system administrators can use the Cluster Manager utility to modify their deployment topology at any time.

These new features build on an existing federated architecture of Perforce, which provides local network speeds over WAN Internet connections. "Today, businesses need a 24/7 development platform that supports distributed teams working together around the clock," said Christopher Seiwald, founder and CEO of Perforce . "Our server clustering provides the ideal zero time to stop at hand while administrators to let increase the incremental capacity for growth on demand at any scale."

Perforce Software serves over 10,500 customers, thousands of startups that rely on its free version for 20 users with some of the most innovative brands and punchy in the world, such as Samsung, NVIDIA, SAP, Pixar, National Instruments, and Salesforce.com New York Stock Exchange.
