Claranet, a European managed services providers, managed hosting acquires Portuguese and Echiron application provider, as part of its continued expansion in Europe. The acquisition of Echiron, which has annual revenues of around € 5 million per year, managed hosting cements the position of Claranet Portugal.
Founded in 00 and based in Lisbon, Echiron is recognized for its expertise in cloud database and Microsoft and Oracle application management services. With offerings that complement and expand the existing service portfolio Claranet Echiron would be a natural partner for Claranet. Echiron has 0 clients in all industry sectors, including BMW Portugal, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (one of the largest private foundations in Europe) and SPMS (central administrative body of the Portuguese health system).
Claranet has grown steadily since it was founded in 1996. Echiron is the latest in a wave of acquisitions made by the company during the past 18 months through Europe - with Star UK (November 2012) and Typhon in France (December 2012) - as the company undergoes a period of rapid growth.
