Samsung Electronics memory technology company announced that its SM1625 SSD, high performance solid state drive (SSD) with a high density and low power consumption has been certified by VMware as an optimized solution for VMware Virtual SAN.
virtual SAN is a new VMware offering that allows users to share disks of servers and flash resources to create a high performance resilient and dynamic shared storage solution for virtual servers. By flash grouping and direct-attached storage , VMware Virtual SAN provides a storage environment that is highly efficient, cost effective and perfectly integrated into VMware vCenter Server .
0,000 IOPS
The SAS enterprise storage newly certified SM1625, which is produced using 20 nanometer (nm) class technology , can read the data sequentially to 950 MB / s (megabyte per second). Additionally, the SM1625 has a random read speed of 0,000 IOPS (input / output per second). In addition, it can manage up to 10 drive writes per day, an endurance rate which covers a typical warranty period for its full five years.
By using 20nm class technology, Samsung's SSD SM1625 provides up to 0 times more energy efficient than (15k rpm) hard drives conventional , and also comes with protection against loss of power to ensure data is safe in a power outage. The SM1625 is available in densities of 100GB, 0GB, 400GB and 800GB.
