global Switch, owner and operator of large-scale, space carrier neutral data centers in Europe and Asia -Pacific, launched the first phase of an extension to its existing data center in Amsterdam provided € 240 million. The large campus roommate, once completed, will provide 64,000 square meters of data center space.
this first phase of the expansion of the data center has been pre-leased to an international provider of telecommunications services. The design of the first phase, which reached a "Very Good" scene design certificate BREEAM-NL Datacenters, provides a density average power of 1500 watts per square meter and is built with the flexibility to offer much higher densities. if necessary
PUE energy efficiency: 1.25
expansion of global colocation site Switch is supported by the latest high efficiency hybrid cooling towers using adiabatic cooling to ensure maximum utilization of the ambient conditions prevailing in Northern Europe with an annual design Power use efficiency (PUE) of about 1.25.
extension has full access to the existing network environment with low latency dense that Amsterdam has overall Switch, 35 carriers, more than 50 other network service providers, and AMS-IX which are all located in the data center.
on € 240 million expansion will ultimately provide global Amsterdam Switch to a total of 25,400 square meters and once all the planned phases have been completed, the campus based in Amsterdam will provide 64,000 square meters of colocation space and lead to a planned capacity of circa 100MW power supplies.
