6WIND Integrates with Mirantis OpenStack for High Performance Data Centers and Infrastructure NFV -

integration 6WIND, a company networking software "high performance", announced with Mirantis OpenStack to simplify deployment of joint customers for high-performance data centers and network function Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVI).

6WIND Virtual Accelerator, which is a hypervisor acceleration software, will incorporate a fuel OpenStack plugin to increase the flow of the application and effectiveness in KVM environments. The two companies worked together to release a Mirantis certified 6WIND Virtual Accelerator plug-in fuel . Developed in open source, fuel would provide experience-based GUI-intuitive for the deployment and management of a variety of distributions and OpenStack plugins.

bottlenecks Hypervisor reduce application performance, slow down the adoption of NFV and limit the extent of data beyond 10G centers. Based on dpdk, Virtual Accelerator 6WIND provides packet processing solution for complete and "high performance" virtual network infrastructure to:

  • high performance I / Os dpdk operator with NIC supporting multi-vendor
  • high virtual switching performance (Open vSwitch and Linux bridge) and networking (overlays, filter / NAT, IP Forwarding, IPsec)
  • support for existing workloads by through standard virtio drivers

mirantis-openstack "many network operators are working with Mirantis OpenStack transition to NFV," said Kamesh Pemmaraju, product marketing vice president at Mirantis . "the partnership between 6WIND Mirantis and expands the use cases for OpenStack NFV pulling fuel party hypervisor to automate scaling for the critical needs of virtual networks to high performance."

6WIND virtual plug-in accelerator fuel would automate the deployment of the acceleration of the hypervisor-based Mirantis dpdk in OpenStack for virtual applications to scale 10 to 40 to 100 Gbps throughput without disrupting KVM hypervisors, RPS or OpenStack controllers.

Virtual Accelerator

6WIND includes full synchronization with the network stack operating system and zero configuration for Linux architectures for users of fuel plugin with flexibility to system resources scale automatically based on the bandwidth the application needs.

"to realize the promise of NFV with deployments of OpenStack, hypervisor acceleration is required for the performance is not sacrificed for virtualization," said Eric Carmès, CEO and founder of 6WIND . "fuel plugin combining 6WIND with Mirantis OpenStack hypervisor automates scaling, offering bare metal performance for NFV applications without additional complexity."
