Infoblox (NYSE: BLOX), introduced the Infoblox solution Advanced DNS protection, Domain Name System (DNS ) device with integrated defenses against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, cache poisoning, the malformed requests, tunnels and other DNS security threats. The device is intended for companies and web hosting service providers
Infoblox DNS Advanced Protection defends against a wide range of DNS threats, including cache poisoning, which inserts the addresses IP thugs in a DNS cache. Malformed DNS requests, which can block a DNS server; and tunnels, which can be used to get the stolen data.
By building the defense directly into a fortified DNS server, the Infoblox solution would be able to provide protection that is stronger, more intelligent and complete with respect to the separate external security solutions . The solution Infoblox DNS Advanced protection - consisting of the Advanced DNS service Infoblox Infoblox appliances and Advanced protection - should be available in January 2014.
-clés characteristics Infoblox DNS Advanced Protection would be:
- detection of single threats and mitigation - Advanced DNS protection Infoblox intelligently analyzes incoming DNS requests and is able to distinguish between legitimate traffic and real users malicious traffic generated by a DNS DDoS attack. Armed with this information, the Infoblox appliance falls then the DDoS traffic and only respond to legitimate requests. This would ensure companies stay online and functioning at a DDoS attack, contrary to conventional limitation response rate slows down all traffic by placing a ceiling on responses to DNS requests simply
- centralized visibility -. Companies and web hosting service providers can identify the abnormal DNS traffic in all Infoblox appliances Advanced DNS protection on their networks through a single console, allowing early detection that allows to organize a more effective defense. It would be beneficial because DDoS attacks often target multiple DNS servers are slowly and are not detected until they reach a catastrophic level
- permanent protection against evolving threats - . An automatic update service regularly sends new rules for the Infoblox appliance Advanced DNS protection, allowing it to protect against evolving threats as they are identified -. much faster than the weeks may elapse pending traditional security patches and updates
"security is better when it is integrated, not bolted," said Steve Nye , executive vice president of product strategy and corporate development at Infoblox . "By integrating intelligent safety directly into a DNS appliance, Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection provides a depth of defense against DNS attacks is much more robust and insightful than rely on a jumble of devices and separate services."
