EMC and VMware announced their intention to form a new cloud service business by combining their respective cloud capabilities, and existing Virtustream cloud offers, under the brand Virtustream. The new company, owned 50:50 by VMware and EMC, will integrate and align the cloud capabilities of EMC, VCE, Virtustream and VMware to provide the full range of offers on- and off-premises.
EMC and VMware are expected to form the new company's cloud services, creating one of the most complete hybrid cloud industry portfolios. The new cloud computing services business will operate under the brand Virtustream led by CEO Rodney Rogers . Virtustream, a cloud services provider focused on private and hybrid cloud managed, was added to the EMC Business Federation earlier this year.

Virtustream integrate these assets to provide customers with an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provides unified, designed to support the full spectrum of workloads with a service portfolio that covers a full range of services and deployment options. The company will integrate and extend existing local EMC Federation private cloud deployments in the public cloud , maintaining a common experience for developers, managers, architects and end users. Virtustream cloud services will be delivered directly to customers and partners.
establish a VMware Unit Cloud Provider software business headed by Ajay Patel , VMware senior vice president, focused on providing software and solutions for cloud providers, including VMware vCloud Air network, helping to quickly exploit the opportunity of the hybrid cloud. This new unit will incorporate the assets and the people of the company VMware vCloud Air Application Services, vCloud Director and vCloud Air network teams and the Business Software Virtustream including Advisor planning and migration tool, xStream platform cloud management and governance Viewtrust, risk and compliance solution.
