Dell announced new systems designed to simplify the widespread adoption of HPC and analysis data in the research, manufacturing and genomics. Dell also unveiled some of its technologies "next generation", including the Intel Omni-Path Fabric processor.
This new family of Dell HPC and data analysis solutions combines the flexibility of customized systems with "simplicity, reliability and value" of a preconfigured system, built in the factory. the new Dell HPC portfolio application specific system offers include:
- Dell HPC system for Genomic Data Analysis - designed to meet the needs of genomics research organizations to enable centers of bioinformatics "profitable" to deliver results and identification of treatment within clinically relevant time, while maintaining the respect and protection of confidential data. the platform is the result of the key learnings from the Dell relationship with Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) to help clinical researchers and physicians to extend the reach and impact of the first world power and the process of precision medicine Drug Administration-approved for pediatric cancer. TGen has been able to improve outcomes for more patients by creating targeted treatments at least a week faster than they previously could not be performed
- Dell HPC system for manufacturing . - designed for customers running complex manufacturing design simulations - using workstations, clusters, or both. If applicable use would include finite element analysis for structural analysis using ANSYS Mechanical & Computational Fluid Dynamics to predict the behavior of fluids in designs using ANSYS Fluent or CD-adapco STAR-CCM +.
- Dell HPC system for research - designed as a foundation, or the reference architecture, for basic research systems and many applications involving a complex scientific analysis. This standard cluster configuration can be used as a starting point for customers and Dell's system engineers to quickly develop research systems that meet the specific needs of looking for customers requiring systems for a wide variety of research programs .
benefits to the portfolio of the new customer Dell HPC system would be:
- simplified the design, configuration and control within hours instead of weeks
- Domain-. specific design that is designed and developed by engineers at Dell and experts in the field of the specific science, engineering and analysis workloads using flexible standard building blocks of the industry.
- systems fully tested and validated by Dell Engineering with a single point of support equipment and a variety of additional service options.
PowerEdge Servers
At the same time, Dell is working closely with Intel to support its Intel Scalable framework of the system which includes Intel Omni-Path Fabric technology, "next generation" Intel Xeon processors, the Xeon Phi family of processors Intel and Intel Enterprise Edition for gloss. New posts related to these technologies include:
- New Dell Networking H series switches and adapters for PowerEdge servers featuring Intel Omni-Path Architecture - These provide a fabric technology "new generation" designed for HPC deployments. The architecture includes advanced features such as optimization of traffic flows, protection of the integrity of packages and setting the dynamic range of channels for finer control on the level of tissue to allow high resiliency, high performance and movement of the optimized traffic.
- Dell and Intel support for OpenHPC community of the Linux Foundation - community is designed to provide a common platform on which end users can collaborate and innovate to simplify the complexity of installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance to implement a custom software stack and facilitate a path to exascale.
"We are excited to partner with Dell to provide advanced systems on the market next year with the Intel scalable system framework," said Charles Wuischpard , vice president and general manager of HPC platform Group, Intel . "Dell's position as our largest and fastest growing customer for Intel Enterprise Edition for glossy, their work on the Omni-Path architecture and next generation Intel Xeon Phi, and initiatives to expand the Innovation Lab Dell demonstrate their commitment to the rapid expansion of the ecosystem for HPC. "
