EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) announced RackHD, a battery agnostic technology platform designed to solve industry to challenge the scale of management and orchestration server and network resources in hyper-scale data centers.
RackHD the EMC software provides materials management and orchestration (M & O) that automates the discovery, description, procurement and programming in a wide range of servers today ' hui and a roadmap to add network devices in the future.
Modern data centers are a mix of storage multi-vendor, networks and servers with a growing variety of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) equipment used to power if hyper-scale use. Installing low-level operating system or firmware updates and BIOS across many devices is already a heavy manual task for data center engineers and orders becomes more difficult and expensive to scale hyper-scale . EMC RackHD was created to automate and simplify these fundamental tasks across a wide range of data center equipment.
Developers can use the RackHD API as a component in an orchestration system more or create a user interface for managing hardware services regardless of the underlying hardware in place . It is designed to help organizations accelerate the deployment of (Platform 3) modern applications that rely on a large number of servers commodity and heterogeneous infrastructure

In addition, the Community CoprHD released its first update, CoprHD 2.4. CoprHD is open source storage software automation centralizes and transforms the multi-vendor storage platform in a "simple and extensible." The CoprHD Community made its official debut with 2.4 to include CoprHD new features, projects, community contributors and a new license switch to Apache license, version 2.0.
the new version broadens the scope of CoprHD to include EMC ECS object storage ., as well as a new REST API for EMC XtremIO 4.0 software a detailed list of features and supported platforms is available on the Project CoprHD community https://coprhd.github.io/
orchestration storage
Finally, EMC also announced new updates to REX-Ray project , sound open source orchestration storage motor for use with containers provided by Docker, Mesos and others. REX-Ray is an open source project led by EMC, which would provide access to persistent storage containers for runtimes, including those provided by Docker, Mesos and others. It is designed to enable advanced storage functionality in common storage, virtualization and cloud computing platforms.
The 0.3 release of REX-Ray contains a variety of new updates thanks to contributions from the community, including the expansion of the support platform for storage GCE (Google Compute Engine) and EMC Isilon storage systems and EMC VMAX. Furthermore, REX-Ray has been updated with preemptive volume function that allows the host to reallocate volumes mounted from non-susceptible hosts up. This ensures applications to maintain access to persistent storage.
"RackHD, CoprHD and REX-Ray are technologies that address major challenges in the Software-Defined Data Center," said John Roese, Senior Vice President and CTO, EMC Corporation . "We hope that by making these technologies available and accessible that our collective efforts with the development community will benefit from a wide range of organizations and applications."
