The suite includes VMware vSphere 5.5, which introduces new features and enhancements across computing, storage, availability and backup to offer customers the best platform for all their applications.

Furthermore, VMware announced VMware Virtual SAN is now available for download and trial through a program public beta. VMware Virtual SAN is new storage solution defined by software that extends VMware vSphere in the calculation pool and direct-attached storage. VMware Virtual SAN clusters and servers flash disks to produce single high performance, resilient shared storage designed for virtual machines.
