The latest version of GigaSpaces Cloudify Technologies, an open source-based multi -Cloud software platform orchestration on TOSCA standard is now available. The new version, 3.3 Cloudify, brings with it a host of improvements and new features focused on the preparation of production, NFV and hybrid cloud orchestration. These features include greater scalability, better security, access control, and installation offline.
The current state of readiness of producing mission critical deployments is fragmented with heterogeneous architectures and sets of tools fractured, said GigaSpace. cloud orchestration Cloudify with 3.3 for deploying and managing applications on all major cloud with no tools, providing a single pane of glass for these complex systems.
"We are very pleased of this release that has improved production and operational stability significantly," said Uri Cohen, product manager at GigaSpaces. "seeing how Cloudify is increasingly used in corporate environments and NFV, we have won many views on what would make it easier to use and maintain. In addition, we deployed many new features and integrations around multi-cloud, containers and NFV orchestration, while strengthening security to meet the demands of our customers. "
new Cloudify 3.3 Production preparation characteristics would include
- High Scalability - thousands of deployments on a single manager Cloudify
- offline Installation [ - the Cloudify manager, agents and plugins can all be installed in a completely offline, which is the case in many companies and carriers
- Snapshots Manager -. full backup and restore feature that allows users to recover failures or planned down time
- access control based on roles -. enables administrators to configure a user API can access resources using a plug system of roles and permissions.
- RHEL / CentOS 7+ support - Cloudify manager now runs natively on CentOS and RHEL and is fully integrated with package management based on native RPM and the system [
hybrid cloud, Heterogeneous Workloads
Like a cloud tool pure-play orchestration, Cloudify is built to work with multiple environments cloud and on a cloud infrastructure. In this version, the Cloudify team implemented a much richer support for AWS, including full support VPC, and new Azure and GCP integrations.
In addition, Cloudify team has developed a plugin for the management framework Kubernetes containers, which allows users to setup Kubernetes on a cloud, and then use it in conjunction with non-containerized parts the user application allows mixed workloads. Cloudify also has tight integration Docker which makes it easy to model-based workloads and deploy Docker Docker containers on a cloud.
OpenStack has recently introduced their latest version with Murano, Liberty. OpenStack Murano is an application catalog that allows users to install OpenStack plugins in one click. Work with the Murano team, Cloudify team built a plugin to extend Murano in any cloud and manage TOSCA planes directly from the Horizon dashboard.
Cloudify Composer
NFV orchestration was another point with the latest Cloudify. It is an open source tool that would meet the demanding needs. Cloudify has already been used by Deutsche Telekom and other Tier 1 operators in this regard.
Also included in this new update Cloudify is the official release of Cloudify Composer (formerly Blueprint Composer). The Composer is a tool that provides a graphical interface to build and design plans using a drag and drop interface. This would allow the creation of complex designs in a much more simple and effective.
